1 is definitely MXR BEF, no idea what the other one is though. Seeing as I own the MXR I'm going to vote for that.

I liked #2 a lot more solo, but #1 quite a bit more in the band context, so I voted 1.

I think I must be listening to different clips than most of the others here.

The twin filters of #2 better accent the mids IMO, and has a much better chance of sticking out in a mix. I like the sound of #1 as well, but not in a heavy mix if you want the effect to stick out.

In the context the OP seems to be aiming for, I'd go with #2.
