Which Flats DO NOT have Silk Wrap ?

Which flatwounds do not have a silk wrap on the ball end of the string? I am having trouble finding flats to work on my Tokai P-bass . I can only top load with it and the DR and Roto strings I have tried has wrapping that interferred witgh th bridge. Thanks!

how do the wrappings interfere exactly? I have a Pbass hare with flats that have wrapping and it's top load. Not to mention you could just cut, burn it off to a point where it's usable.

I have been using the Detroit flatwounds from www.webstrings.com . They have no silks at all. I really love their sound and their price.

Well, I thought abaout doing just that but wasnt sure if it was OK. For the price of those strings, I didnt want to take chance. The windings extend over the bridge which is noit a good thing. Just thought someone might make a flat that was designed for toploaders.

is the silk extending over the bridge a bad thing? I've been using the same set for over a year at this point and before the silk got roughed up a bit and I as able to move it it extended over the bridge.

it's not a big deal imho. not with flats.

Glad I could help. Let me know if you like them. I use the medium guage on all my basses (I tried Chromes on one...the jury is still out), and I love them.
