Which iphone bass simulator app would you recommend?

I have been invited to my first iJam in a couple of weeks. It is with a group of musicians I often play with, but instead of bringing along our real instruments we are going to plug in our iphones / ipads / android compatible devices into the pa and jam using music apps.

I have never felt the need for a bass app, obviously preferring to play the real thing. But this sounds like an interesting experiment so I'm going along with it...

I will be using my iphone and have just downloaded the bassist app to play around with. Garage band is only available on ipad. What other bass simulator apps are there that I should try?

Any tips from those who have tried this before would also be gratefully received.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep on playing around with that 'bassist' app for now as it seems the most suitable for what I am after. Shame garageband is only available on the ipad as it's bass simulator is much more advanced than any I can find for an iphone...

I like GuitarToolkit. it's more of a chord and scale chart type of app, but you can select your instrument and strum or hit the notes however you like. i usually keep it set on bass and will try to write out parts by trial and error if i don't have a bass near me. it also comes with a pretty handy tuner and metronome built in.

I d/l the G-K app and it's pretty good. My power supply crapped out on my Bass Rockman and needed a way to practice on the road. It has a built in mp3 player that works with your iTunes. Only down side is it won't run in the background if you want to look at something else and it's a bit noisy. The free Amplitude doesn't sound as good but will run in the background. Need the iRig though but picked up one at GC for $40.

Amazing what the iPhone can do I hear a rumor it can even make phone calls too!
