Which MXR chorus

I need/want a chorus pedal. For the price I'm leaning towards MXR. Plus I've got the MXR envelope filter and MXR compressor. So the OCD in me is also making me lean towards MXR.

Is there a difference between the M234 analog chorus and the ZW38 Zakk Wylde? Or is neither a good choice for bass application?

If I stay MXR I'll end up getting the MXR octaver too probably and selling my Micro POG. Again, OCD.

When I was looking up a chorus most of the sources I found said that there was no difference between the M234 and the Zakk Wylde but both sound just fine on bass.

I have the black label. It is essentially an analogue ce5.
The anaolog chorus is the same pedal but with different artwork in order to appeal to the non zakk Market
The micro chorus is also very nice. What it lacks in control options, it makes up for in sound!
Not tried the stereo, but there is a good number name bass players who either are or have used it

I called MXR to ask in general about their chorus pedals in a bass application. They recommended the M234 so fine adjustments could be made to taylor for bass. They specifically didn't recommend the micro chorus for that reason.

However, I didn't think about asking the difference to the Zakk Wylde.

I have the M234, sounds perfect on bass. Having the bass and treble controls is really nice, absolutely no loss of low end with this pedal. Sounds great

As the guys have said above, the Analog Chorus and Black Label (Zakk Wylde) Chorus are the same unit in different boxes - according to the Jim Dunlop website ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]):

Analog chorus is the same as BLS chorus. In this case, it was the BLS chorus that came out first, then we decided to release the analog chorus as an option for those who weren’t interested in owning a Zakk pedal. Hope that doesn’t sound too unreasonable.

I've just picked up an Analog Chorus to replace a Boss CEB-5 (that I've had for over 10 years) and it's a very nice unit on bass. The ability to select the frequency range to apply the chorus to is the killer feature for me.

I ordered the Zakk Wylde this morning.

I own both the Black Label chorus and the Micro chorus.

Both sound pretty much the same at the same settings; that is, they have the same 'character'. The BL can be adjusted, of course, which makes it more adaptable to different instruments.

For instance, I have the micro on my bass board and the Black Label on my guitar board. I use the Black Label's adjustments to warm up the guitar tone (the treble is ridiculous on that guitar). Since I don't need that adjustment for my bass, and since both choruses sound so similar, the micro does just fine for my bass (for me at least).
