So did the surgical scars I incurred in the last few years "relic" me or at age 63 am I already a relic but road worn?
I only have a problem with it when certain people can't get enough of the fashion, hairstyles, music, and overall culture of people that they wouldn't want to personally associate with.
There are folks out there who love to indulge in all things African-American...but they can't stand black people.

Science is a wonderful and necessary thing, but when the word is used to sell everything from Pop Tarts to laundry detergent, it gets cheapened. I just hope it doesn't go the way of "awesome," "amazing," "genius," and "superpower" - words that have been misused and overused to within an inch of their lives.

While often true, it's not automatic. I've bought very inexpensive effects pedals that have outperformed their much more expensive counterparts.
Just recently I started buying "Old Home" English muffins that IMO taste better and have better texture than the much more famous and 3 times more expensive "Thomas'" brand. And the two-blade "Humble Twin" razor cartridges I get from DSC give me a better shave than the much more expensive Gillette three-blade "Mach3" razor cartridges that I had used for many years.

"Throwing shade" - how did THAT become a phrase indicating one person insulting/denigrating another? 
Not on the list but every time I hear someone say when looking for something "it's always in the last place you look", of course it is, who keeps looking for an object once they have found it.
It's even worse where I live - the dealerships/used lots here have started calling 'em "previously enjoyed"...f&%k outta here
- And not that I ever plan on buying a vehicle - new OR used - from a dealership, but any chance they MIGHT have had of making a sale to me went out the window the moment I saw those dumb@$$, spin-doctory signs...

It's a ridiculous concept. Somebody sees or eats something they like, human nature is they imitate it. There is no need to understand any depth of anything. The only time lifting from another culture is inappropriate is when it's commercialised.
Which means btw that I demand the immediate closure of every English/British styled fish & chip shop in every country around the world. Or I guess I could accept royalties...
