Which string set should I use for BEAD tuning?

Which of these two string sets should I get for BEAD tuning my 34" scale, 4-string bass?

Option #1:
DR DDT-65
65, 85, 105, 125

Option #2:
DR DDT5-55
55, 75, 95, 115, 135 (minus the 55)

(Not looking for other suggestions. Ty.)

I would go with #1 based on the fact the DDTs are stiffer in feel than most other hex-core rounds due to their thicker-than-average core wires.

Technically, what follows can be filed under partly other suggestions:
what *I* would choose is option 2, but discarding the .115 instead.
This way, the .135 will be ready for occasional forays into AEAD, and the remaining .095, .075 and .055, being low-gauge but (as said above) stiffer than usual, will feel just right tuned to EAD.

I have option #1.
I like it a lot - the 125 DDT, to me, makes for an excellent B-string. I use the 125 on my 5-string as well, but with as 50-110 DDT set for G-E.

If I get the nut filed to fit the heavy gauge strings and then find out that I would prefer a lighter gauge, will I be able to switch it without replacing the nut?

I've never been to BEAD and back, but many a TBer who has reports it is doable without replacing the nut. You could check out the BEAD club over on the Basses subforum.
