Which specific DTF are you talking about in terms of gauges? La Bella offers five different sets of gauges.

760FL somewhat similar in feel to discontinued Sadowsky blacks, but the Sadowskys are a slight bit more flexy, and a bit more middy. The nearly perfect smoothness (to me) of both sets are very similar. Of currently available flats, I know of any that are as smooth as the 760 line.
