I have the option for purchase either an Ampeg rig or a Bergantino cabinet, for near the same price.

the Ampeg rig is an Ampeg b5r,rack, tuner, power conditioner, and two SVT410HLFs (USA made)

the Berg in a NV610.

The Berg is pristine shape...

the ampeg's aren't fully tolexed, but i don't mind much.

So would you buy the rig, thus having a back up head, back up rack and two extra cabs,

or buy just the Berg.

keep in mind that i usually play rock music...check the link below:
my current rig is an Ampeg SVT410HLF and a Mesa Titan V12.
my HLF also isn't in great condition.

which would you select?

this may sound dumb, but

if the Ampeg is 48hz- 18khz
and the berg is 48hz-4.5 khz

that means the Berg will have deeper low end, right?

48 hz is the low end...the other stuff is the high end.

That being said, I wouldn't trust specs that any company provides. They are notoriously "made up" based on what marketing wants out there.

Titan and Berg would be a great combination. Keep in mind that the Berg isn't ported though. More like a SVT 8x10 sound than the ported 410HLF, which is known as a deep lowend cabinet.

I've owned the Berg NV610. It's a great cabinet. I have the NV215.

The Bergantino has no tweeter, thus it's high frequency response is considerably lower. As far as having 'deeper low end', your ears will have to decide.

well, i play hard rock/"screamo" stuff...so i need the low end pretty much. I also like the mid's for my church rig though, which makes me lean towards berg, since its probably more "versatile" from gig to church.

the beaten ampeg....not so much.

If i got the berg, my rig would be this:

TITAN--NV610/410HLF/Peavey 215/
or if i got the ampeg rig:

TITAN/B5R---410HLF X 3/peavey 215

But if i sold one of the HLFs, and then sold a bass, i could possibly buy the NV610 also,
thus giving:

Titan/B5R---NV610/HLF X2/ Peavey 215

i like the last combonation most!

I've owned two 410HLFs, they go down to 28hz IIRC--- below low B, VERY DEEP, deeper than any other 10-equipped cabs on the market I believe! And they're not making US products, or quality (IMO) products anymore. But, since you already have one and the 410HLFs are beat up (otherwise--possible investment potential), I voted for the Berg. :)

Even better, go with:

Titan --> NV610 and NV215

Sell the Peavey and Ampeg...

Actually, it looks like you get less power out of the Titan at 2ohm than 4ohm (840W/2ohm vs. 1200W/4ohm). So, just grab the NV610 and call it a day.

or sell that stuff and go for the 4x12...

or sell EVERYTHING and get a 3x10 IP and a Summit 2BA-221 pre with a TLA 50...

:hyper:

But get the Berg - it will be a SERIOUS sound upgrade.

Cheers,
Cameron

HI

Not sure. 610's are a bit much for me to haul around so Ive never owned one. I prefer a modular setup. I have 2 210's and a 410. I use whats appropriate for the gig I'm headed to. My buddy had a 610 and a 215. Keep your eyes on the classified here. They come up.

woo!

if all goes right, i'll be getting both!

rig will look like such:

mesa titan // b5r

nv610
(newer)410hlf
peavey 215

Wooo! I'm happy now!
I'm getting a Bergantino NV610 and a newer American HLF! :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:

i'll keep you fellows updated.

oh, and even though i'm getting both, i can't buy out the carrots :bawl::hiding:
