White-Face Peavey Combos?

What year and model were the white control panel Peavey combos? Fairly recent, right?

My singer has one in her studio and if I strike out on next week's amp head search may have to use it for the next show.
Want to look up the specs, but she's out of town and doesn't have a clue what model it is.

Any clues are appreciated, thanks.

Not sure of the years, but the Peavey T-MAX has a white face and it came in a combo as well. Definitely was a 1x15, I think they did a 2x10 too.

I recently used a Peavey Max preamp in the studio for the first half of our debut CD, and the tone was perfect for what we do (using a Korean Ibanez SR500) and it looks like this combo's sound and controls should be similar.

If I have to use it, I'll disconnect the 15" and put a jack on the speaker wires so I can run it into my PV 410TX cabinet.

I'm actually starting to relax now...so I got that going for me.

I have a T-max, which is the head portion of those combos....great amp. I'm guessing mid-late '90's. They were made during the time Peavey changed their logo for a little while. I've seen T-max's with both style logo's.

Yeah I gotta say, my T-MAX 115 combo is a brute.

Great features, great tone, and damned near indestructable to boot.

If I wasn't too wimpy to deal with its weight I'd probably still be playing it.

I had a Combo 115 (probably from around 2000 or so). They also made the Combo 210, both had around 200 watts and 300 if you hooked up an extension cab. Had my speaker replaced under warranty as it was a buzzing machine, but other than that it seemed to work fine. I switched to seperate heads and cabs not soon after though and ended up selling it.

You might only need a speaker cable.

My T-Max has 1/4" output jacks, and the combo it's mounted in is not direct-wired but instead has a pigtail with a plug. Surely hers is the same?

I remember that head. It had been through the wars but it sounded fantastic, better than the one I'm using now.

I've had one for about 15 years now, havnt use it for awhile becuase it keeps having the same problem every few years. It will come on but the volume will be about half and somewhat distorted, sometimes you can hit the strings hard and the spike will kick it back to normal. I cant recall what they fixed the last time but I am thinking about calling Peavey and talking to there tech people to see if this was an issue with this product. Anyone else out there with this head had any similar experience ? this is the T max head, not the combo.

There was a 1000 watt version too......Kilobass maybe??? Something wierd about that one, like an 8ohm minimum bridged or something.

T-max is 500 watts @ 2 ohms. I've run up against the DDT on mine a few times...but that was super loud.

I've made a couple mistakes like that, namely my first T-max and my first 800rb. I've since found both amps again, in much better condition than my first ones......these are going to the grave with me.

I don't know. A lot of old Peaveys, a good De-Oxit cleaning, maybe a pre tube gets them going....beyond that, you'll need a tech. There is something in these amps that's out of production, but I think it's the transformer, which hardly ever goes bad.....you'd certainly know it if it did.
