White thumb rest

Just wondering where I might be able to get one from, preferably from England if not the UK if not Europe don't really know of any custom hardware companies. Looked briefly for one a while ago and couldn't find anything.

This is is the nice red+white bass I don't wanna ruin with a black one (not meant as a metaphor of racial superiority of course :p):

As ever, my hair is in the way of me seeing anything, it's no wonder I always suck live...

Check out pablovibe on eBay. His website is classicguitarboxes.com, and I know he has a pearloid white one and also a clear perspex one, but I'm not sure about plain white. Not exactly cheap, but he is in the UK and a very personable fellow to do business with. They're a very nice product, I have two of them and will be ordering more soon.

If you can't find one elsewhere he might be able to make a plain white one.

Wow, it's like if Harrods made thumb rests... but where's the bone China option? :p

No white one there unfortunately, the do only cost about as much if not less then one from Fender anyway, and the less money given to Fender the better.

If I was less clumsy I would do, never been very good with anything to do with that area of DIY. if I find anything I can drill a couple of holes into that I can use I might do it though, seems like the cheapest and perhaps better option anyway. *EDIT* screwholes aren't a problem by the way if you look closely at the pic someone mangled the pickguard with 3 holes for each side of one that used to be there...

why the less money to Fender the better? BTW do you ever play in Leeds?

I'd just rather give my money to a small builder/company then give it to one of the 2 companies that people regard as the be all and end all of guitars, and pretty much the 1 of basses. Don't get me wrong I like their stuff alot, just on an economic level I'd rather not contribute to them, plus with everyone buying Fender and Gibson all the time it causes a bit of a lack of variety obviously, and makes the generally small amount of variety hard to get hold of.

And yes, we do play in Leeds, just not very often, everything a bit scene in Leeds, don't go down very well at all most of the time. A few cool bands and stuff still, but don't really get to do many gigs, doing one at the packhorse at the end of January which should be cool, wanna play at Brudenell social at some point though, seen a couple of cool bands there and it's a nice little venue, you don't happen to know whether the venue there is referred to as the city vaults or something along those lines do you by the way?

I live round the corner from the Brudenell... Never heard of the city vaults, you sure that's the name?
