I've had my Sire V5 (passive) five-string (that I mentioned in this thread post #111) for ten weeks now, and it has become my go-to bass: I really like it.

It's my first-ever Sire (TB got them on my radar), and my fourth-ever "Jazz bass", being mostly a P-bass-rooted and then (for the past decade) mostly a G&L MFD player. My return to passive was a tone-journey for me that started with pandemic couch-playing: I have no particular dislike for actives, and no annoyance with batteries.
