Hey guys, I've finally got my custom bass idea fully planned out, here's what I'm going for:
[note: all features are required unless stated otherwise]
Neck:
-Maple neck w/ Rosewood fretboard
-Medium-jumbo [6150] frets
-10" radius
-Top adjust truss rod
-Satin [dust-coat] finish
-Graphite stiffening rods [not required]
-Mother of Pearl dots [not required]
Body:
-Alder, 72' P Bass shape
-Olympic white finish w/ Tortise shell Pickgaurd
-Rout for P pickup
-Rout for Hipshot triple lockdown [single string] Bridge
Electronics [not required, see below]:
-250k CTS pots
-EMG-HZ passive P pickup
-Orange drop .047 uF cap
-Switchcraft output jack
Hardware [not required, see below]:
-Hipshot HB-2 Gold tuners
-Hipshot BT2 Gold D-tuner
-Hipshot Triple lockdown [single string] Gold bridge
-Gold neck screws and screw plate
-Gold knobs and strap locks [notice a pattern?]
Alright, now, one unique thing about this is that I'm able and willing to assemble and setup the instrument myself, which is why the electronics and hardware aren't required.
All I really need done for me is the wood to be shaped/routed and finished, like a warmoth build. However, I'm hesitant to get warmoth parts because they require the use of steel rods in thier necks.
Also, while I would like to assemble and setup this bass myself, I wouldn't be opposed to getting a luthier to do it all for me.
So, my question to talkbass is who do you all think will be able to do this build for me? A luthier in Washington state would be nice as that's where I'm located, but I'm willing to consider everyone who can fufill all the features I've listed above.
Thanks in advance, and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
