who has tried web collaborations on songs?

I could not find a thread where you gather for jamming contests, online jamming or some other kind of web 2.0-Sessioning here in the forum, like I found on most other music related forums.

Theese projects dont always work is my impression, for most people get stuck in many mp3-attachments in forums, wich are hard to navigate and check out. I have been checking on music collaboration everywhere, for I live in the countryside and dont have many real-life musicians to play with around in my area, but I do some homerecording and would like to interact more with other people.

Do you know musicians that have moved away or maybe live just a bit to far to drive to? Both myself and a friend in Arizona use pro tools and reason with the same sound banks. You can email that type of stuff fairly easily. Its a quick way to get stuff done so you aren't just playing over an mp3, but can change the midi, extend passages, etc.

Yeah I saw this. Cool idea, but I've got a few other songs I'm working on. Also, to be honest, there's a lot that needs to be done to these tracks before getting them to a good quality, IMO. I signed up and started an account, so I'll sniff around and see if there's anything that motivates me. :)
