Who owns the more basses from the same brand?

68 basses??? Get thee to a nunnery, go...

Now let me think about that in real terms. At 3 inches per bass, that's a lot of closet space. Nah, couldn't be in a closet, right? Which ones do you put on display?

Geez, the most I ever had of any single bass was nine Alembics at one point. That was when I was filthy rich and totally broke, if you know what I mean. Basses have a way of doing that to a guy.

I just went through a major downsize, at my family's insistence (er... encouragement). I sold off three Alembics, two F basses, a Roscoe, a Yamaha, and a bunch of amps and cabs. I'm down to my two main gigging basses, and three that I only use in the studio. And, I might be about to buy a MusicMan StingRay 5, I've been borrowing it from my buddy who wants to sell it, and it's a darn nice bass. If I do get that one, it'll definitely get a lot of gigging use, 'cause I get these funny looks when I play biker bars with my Roscoe, and I figure the MM is just Fender-y enough to be socially acceptable.

Anyway, 68 basses. You are the MAN. My hero! :)

As soon as your Conklin 11 is ready, would you mind posting some kind of a review of it (and some pics perhaps ;) )? I've been dreaming of one (especially of one made by Conklin) for a long time, but I haven't had the chance to test one since I live in Europe... and I didn't have the chance to visit Frankfurt Musikmesse to test Adler's 11-string.
If your Conklin 11 proves to be a success - not that I doubt it - I will seriously think about ordering one...

Here's my current lineup:

7 Jerzy Drozd basses:
2 X 5-string signature basses (one of which has a fingerboard of 3 octaves)
Prodigy LE 9-string
9-string equipped w/ Lightwave pickups
4-string piccolo w/ 28-frets
fanned-fret 7-string w/ 28 frets
fretless 8-string (not octaved)

EDIT(JT): not according to jerzy drozd you don't - he has personally verified that he never made any of these instruments you claim to have :mad:

34"-scale 4-string Flamboyant
singlecut 5-string
singlecut 12-string (an octaved 6-string)
singlecut 7-string

...and of course, my cat Meetu, a seven-year-old Maine coon.

Wonderful, I get to post right after Nino, ProgZilla and people that The Ox envied. :help:

I purchased 2 Yamaha RBX-775's within a week of one another during the last month's blowouts. I was so impressed with the first that it's rapidly become my main player, and the second was bought with the intent of becoming my main fretless. I also own two Ibanez's, a defretted SR-800 and a SR-1206 six-string.

I'd love to own a few cocobola-topped Pedulla Thunderbass ET's or Spector NS-JH-5 EX Spalted Maple Tops*, but that'll have to wait until I get hit by a bus and receive a fat insurance settlement or something to that effect. :bawl:

*Unlike the majority of Spector players, I love the ReBop and USA Bolt-on's. To me the combination of alder body/maple top and bolt-on construction tame the "tad too bright"-ness of the all-maple neck-though's. It's as if a Spector and a Jazz made sweet love down by the fire. :D
