Who uses small combo amps?

I use a Markbass Mini CMD121P on many of my gigs, not all. I'll use it in conjunction with an Ampeg 15". But I also use a 69 SVT and a 64 B-15N as well. I guess you can count the B-15 as a combo, too.

I have an Ampeg BA115HP that I have used to rehearse and play gigs with. It holds up quite well in a loud rock band.

Kickback combos really help for the stage if you have PA support. As long as your can hear yourself the PA will do the thumpin'.

Then at the end of the gig, you clear out with one trip to the car...

I use a Genz Benz Shuttle 3.0-10T com o for all my playing these days. 175 watts with a 10" driver and tweeter. 18 pounds and sounds at least twice it's size. It works great for jazz trio stuff and is all I need for a stage monitor when I have PA supported gigs. It also held it's own at a restaurant gig with guitar and vox in the PA and acoustic piano.

I can't say enough good things about the Genx Benx products or people.

I have a B15N but that thing is so heavy.....

I bought a month ago , a RCF 310A , it's a single 10"+horn , 300watts , 27 pound active speaker. Very very nice and powerfull. I see it and use it as a combo

On "jazzish" gigs , I plug the URB/bass directly in it (XLR-1/4 adapt).
If I need more "juice" , I bring the TD100.

I've done a couple of small gigs with my little 60 watt 1X12 Behringer combo amp without PA support. No problem.

I bought this almost ten years ago. It's a B-15R with 1-15 (no horn). It took a bit for me to get the mid-scoop dialed in *just so*, but after I did, I fell in love with it!

Hey Rob! A buddy of mine recently bought a Markbass Mini head as a back up amp for his SVT Classic and has used it with his Ampeg 610 cab. It impressed him with its tone and diminutive size and weight. -Dan

I'm not surprised. I own a 69 SVT and a 64 B-15N, and I think the Markbass head holds up tonally against both, and in some ways surpasses them (it's definitely quieter, for one thing).

I will be. I just sold my Fender BXR 300C, all 90 lbs of it. I will be getting either a Genz-Benz Shuttle 6.0-12T or Markbass CMD 112P.

I used, and still do on occasion, a Crate bt-1000 100 watt combo. It's great for when I don't want to lug a 4x10 or don't need to.
