Im trying to understand this thread. The OP works with a guy that owns the Warwick Thumb.
The guy that owns the bass tells the OP the he played that bass in a popular 80s rock band.
The guy that owns the bass also refuses to reveal the name of said band to the OP. Is this what’s going on here ?

TM Stevens sadly is suffering from severe dementia now from what Ive read...but "Funkmaster" sounds like it would be fitting for him...but his Warwicks and Spectors had pretty elaborate paint finishes from what I remember

I was about to say Norwood Fisher but I think he pretty much only played 5-string Warwick Thumbs back in the day. I might be wrong about that though.

My first guess would be P-Nut from 311, funky, Warwick player, they really weren’t big until 1993 though.

Is it John Davis? The guy the thumb bass was designed for? Your picture is the original body design of the thumb which waa labeled the "JD", and he was known for his slap bass skills so "funkmaster" fits...
