I don't hear that often a song where the bass player is using slides in a song. So I was wondering who of the TB-ers out here does use them and how often you use it?

Who's using slides in his / her music?

I do slides up to upper-register notes, usually from a 4th or a 5th below the target note on the same string. I pretty much stole the concept from Lee Sklar, and I try to do it as often as he does - not too much, but strategically placed for taste and impact.

I slide from time to time - you can say I'm a lazy ass bassist, because I slide my finger pulling the string when I should be playing close notes separately (eg. 3-4-5). But it's useful eg. if I should play an octave right after that.
Long hearable slides in some places also sound nice, eg. when ending the bridge or in the beginning of the bass line (Iron Man for instance).

I love sliding. It adds more "life" and articulation to your notes (When/Where appropriate.)
Plus, sometimes sliding helps resolve some technique issues.
Do you mean sliding with your finger as a technique, or using a bottle slide to play with? I do the first all the time, just to add a little drama to a line. I've been experimenting with a bottle slide at home, there's one tune where I solo and I've been thinking about working it in. I actually brought the slide to a gig (we wound up not playing the tune, though) and I think I freaked my guitarist out... he was wondering what I was up to.
Mark Sandman was a genius. I love how simple Morphine's approach was. There'll never be another one like him.
