Why can't I sell this bass?

Not trying to spam. I am still looking for more honest opinions and guidance to make this bass list better. Sorry if you misunderstood my intentions.

I think most guys who play fretless without lines are pretty particular about what they play... and I have to say, the Bongo does not leap to mind (for me, at least) as what I'd want in that kind of bass. Put frets on it, it's rock & roll and we're all good... but the folks who play fretless - and seemingly those who have the training/experience to play without lines - don't play rock and roll... So I suspect that even if this bass had lines, you'd have a hard time moving it. Fretless players are peculiar (and yes, I am one too).

That said, I'll bet that is a fine bass. Why did you buy it to begin with?

And take it to the classifieds.

Now this was the first response in a while that makes total sense. That was what I was afraid of when I listed this bass. I was afraid that it was to strange or left of center for MOST fretless players.

The reason I purchased it is that I wanted the HH pickup design WITH the piezo. The Bongo was the ONLY model that allowed that option. I also bought it when I had some extra cash laying around, and now my life has turned 180 degrees with the baby coming and the new house.

hmm.. 6 pages on why a bass isn't selling. You've got your answer on page one. And the above post about fretless players don't play rock seems a bit of a leap for me. Go to GC and see if they will buy it and move on.

Congrats on the new child by the way... I would give up all my basses for my kids.

Here's what moves -

1) cheap stuff that sells new in a kit for under $200

2) MII, MIK, MIM and MIJ Squire/Fender P or J in 4 string fretted,
3) USA Fender in 4 string fretted,
4) Epiphone/Gibson in 4 string fretted,

then a looooong way back,

5) vintage Rick, Hofner & VOX.

then a much, much longer way back

everything else. Buy guitars like cars - consider resale and liquidity (how fast it sells).

I disagree;

I say buy guitars to play them and because you like to play them(particular instruments). Not for scoping resale markets.

I wholeheartedly agree with the rest of your assessment and I'd bet John has close to the same train of thought that I do when it comes to choosing instruments. However John is probably realizing he's going to lose his shirt for buying such a Unique instrument.
