I really didn't dig the Bongo's look until the new 6-string versions hit... Then I wanted one bad! It seems there's just a subtle-but-critical difference in the body shape... Is the 6 a tad wider than the 4 and 5? It looks like it to me.
I was chasing a Bongo 6 until I heard that it doesn't sound like a StingRay. I just assumed it would. I wonder if MusicMan would make a custom shop Bongo 6 using the StingRay's guts?

I am struggling with this dilema as well. I originally didn't like them and I have never played one but all the sudden I have this urge to seek one out and see what the hype is about. Problem is they are hard to find. My next bass was pretty much going to be of he musicman brand but which was still up in the air. It may be the Bongo.
If I like it I will probably end up adding it to the stockpile I am building.

last night at 1 oclock i switched my craving from a mij p bass to a sterling HH 4 string, im still in shock, i really want it now
i bought my bongo completely on accident. i saw it was a MM bass so i had to check out this funny looking instrument. i kept playing and looking, 10 minutes later i knew i had to take it home. incredibly powerful instruments.
