Why does that Trolli commercial freak me out so much?

First off: "Welcome to our land, sorry about your hand!" Da hell kind of advertising is that?!?! What exactly are they saying about their product? I'm scared to even try them!

Secondly, is anyone else bothered by the fact that A) the jingle is almost a complete rip-off of the old Merrie Melodies theme song ("The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down") ...and B) the way it differs from the old Merrie Melodies theme song is that instead of going to the dominant at the end of the 2nd phrase, it just goes straight back to the tonic! It's like they couldn't even be bothered to build in a little delayed gratification to the music!?!? No tension* just resolution

* ...well, except for that "sorry about your hand" thing.

It all just skeeves me out.

(for anyone who has no idea what I'm going off about)

I'm just glad I'm not the only one! The tree guy is just as creepy as the wormy candy creatures. Is he the cousin Groot doesn't talk about?

And I'll never put my hand in a bag of Trolli! For me, the commercial does not sell the product. But it's been airing for a long time, so it's working for somebody...
