Why does this scare me?

Amazing talent from such young kids. But I do understand, it kind of gives me the willies. I can't watch The Shining because those 2 little girls standing in the hallway still scare me to this day. I can picture the little boy riding his big wheel into the lobby of the hotel and coming face to face with these kids. REDRUM!!!

I watched the video. It's pretty typical kiddie recital stuff -- maybe at the higher end of proficiency, but not supernatural. The comments to the video were interesting. Of course the kids played without emotion, and their body language was rehearsed. Kids don't learn how to play with real emotion and body language until they're much older. The alternative to pasted-on smiles is for the kids to stand like statues and stare into space.

I've also gotten used to seeing kids play who are far ahead of where I was at the same age.

Good points. Check out this one of Michael Pipoquinha, starting at about 1:35. He's got incredible feel for a kid that age.

I don't know if anyone noticed, but there was a point where one kid was a little bit out of sync with the others...

What scares me about that video is that the out of sync kid may have been viewed as besmirching the good name of the DPRK and black bagged as he was putting his guitar back in the case backstage...

Dang it, every time I click a youtube link, I drift off watching a sh!tload of (eventually unrelated) videos, then I forget why I went there in the 1st place...anyway...

Because you know that if they mess up they and their entire extended family get carted away to a hard labor death camp that makes the Nazis of WWII look like rookies...and they are never heard from again.

maybe not quite that extreme, but I would be interested in what actually happens when they do mess up. in fact they probably dont wanna find out, so they dont mess up to begin with.
;)

North Koreans have no Seoul!

Thats gold. :D
