Will an eden D2x15XLT put out clean lows?

Well, I just picked up this eden D2x15XLT for a song ($275.U.S.) Right now I'm playing a jazz bass through a vintage acoustic 450, and it sounds amazingly snarly and aggressive... Problem is that i want clean punchy lows, which I'm not really getting, because this head breaks up really quickly. Well, what I'm wondering is, if i get a new head, will i be able to get the clean low-end that I'm after? Thanks in advance

Well you do need lots of power to play cleanly at decent volume. I would say at least 500 watts? That's a pretty common rating for heads these days. I played with. 1200 power amp into 4x10 and never had to crank it and had the skund you describe. I also use a Carvin 2x10 with my Markbass LMIII 800 and is a great match. Again I don't crank it up all the way...usually Input and Master each at 3 or 4. I am not an authority. ..just my experiences. Good luck.

Also...majy cans require lots of power. That's where sensitivity comes in. Hit the Eden website for tips

Thanks, i was looking in to some of the carvin amps because of the graphic E.Q. Also thought about going pre/power using one of those crest amps with the built in dsp.

For power with a clean and warm sound the Hartke LH500 ad LH1000 are sweet and extremely inexpensive for what they do. I think you'd be in clean-punchy heaven with an LH1000 running into the Eden.

If I were looking for clean, punchy lows from an Eden cab, I'd get a D-410XST. That, paired with a WT-550, would dominate.

+1 also. I use a eden wt500 with a 410xst. Eden wt800 with a 810 xlt. Both rigs sound great.

Well I've already got the eden 2x15. Ill definitely look in to some eden heads. I played a bassman 1200 today, which sounded real nice, also a v4b... But i dont really want that tube grind, as awesome as it is.
