Will It Be Loud Enough?

Right now I'm in a trio with a guitar and drummer. The guitarist plays a 65 watt amp but doesn't have the volume very loud, the drummer is not very loud, and we play very small gigs (50-100 people, sometimes less). I am thinking about either the Ampeg BA-115 or the Fender Rumble 100 210. Will this be enough power? If not, how many watts should I look at? Thanks!

P.S.-We just had a gig yesterday- I have a Fender Rumble 60 and I had my bass and low mid at 3:00, high mid and 11:00, and treble at 9:00 with the volume at 9:00 and I was able to be heard pretty well.

I've played through the fender rumble 2-10. It's a decent amp, especially if nothing is too loud, it can hold it's own.

I was at a small local show the other day and a bass player from one of the bands was playing on a Fender Rumble 100, but it was a 15". Personally I didn't find it to be loud enough, but I'm not sure if you might get different results from the 210.
If I were in your situation I would save up a little bit more and purchase a bit more powerful amp.
On the other hand, if the Rumble 60 met your needs.. I'm sure you would be pleased with the 100. The question is just for how long.

I was thinking the same thing. I found a Fender Bassman 150 new for $350 and a used GK 400 RB 210 for $400, so I'm either gonna go w/ one of those 2 or the Acoustic 200. Sound good?

  6. if you are having no problems pumping out your sound then why are you planning to buy a (that too very slightly) larger amp? imo you would only find a little more head room with a 100W amp not much more volume. the rule of the thumb is that if everything remains the same then you need 3 times more power than you have to double your volume

I regret not checking out the Acoustic 200 @ Guitar Center last time I was there because I've heard a lot of good things about them.

Just go and spend a little time with each of these amps, I'm sure at least one of them will make you a happy camper.
