Hey guys, I was thinking about changing my setup and I was wondering if what I am thinking about is going to be enough.
Currently I am using a Hartke lh500 running into an Acoustic b810 (the old version). It sounds pretty good to me, but I absolutely hate carrying it around. I used to have a silverado but now I'm driving a little Hyundai that I couldn't put that cab in if I wanted to. It's also pretty beat up; the bottom wheels got punched through the cab and now there is a wood board screwed down on the bottom. Nowadays I've just been using my vt bass deluxe and not even bringing an amp most of the time. And when I do, I've been borrowing my guitarists Kustom Deep end 15 cab.
I have never had to turn this rig up past 2 (3 with the Kustom cab) and I usually keep it around 1.5.
I've tried the HyDrive cabs and I love them. They are exactly what I want for cab. I also tried them with a lmiii and it was perfect. That is exactly the sound I had been wanting/hearing in my head!
So what I was wondering is would a single HyDrive 1x12 with the lmiii be sufficient? I know that what I'm currently using is way more than I need, but I would hate to not have enough! The 1x12 would be nice because it fits in my car (I have a hard time fitting the 1x15 in there). It would mostly be used for practice and as a stage monitor. But I just want to be sure it's going to work before I go spend all that money.
