Willie ftw! He won a Grammy in 1984 for his recording of "City of New Orleans", on his album of the same name.

Arlo Guthrie also had a hit with it, of course, about a decade earlier - his only top 40 hit, actually. And Johnny Cash also recorded it a little after that. Written by songwriting great Steve Goodman, who left us too soon.

Arlo talks here about how the tune came to him, in a wonderful performance with family, friends ... and Pete Seeger no less. Perhaps my favorite version - no slight to Willie, who also does it memorably. Wonderful ...
