I got this last thursday. Very cool. I've been searching for something to give me a real classic tremolo sound. This does the trick extremely well, especially considering it's so reasonably priced ($122 shipped in the US).

This pedal is not for people looking for useless oddball goofy sounds that really only nerds cream over. This is for people who adore vintage trem tones from classic amps.

Here's some Swamp Trem, with my amp distorting (obviously):

That last one is with the wah Kevin made me, my Custom Bass Wah. I've long wanted a cool wah/trem tone reminiscent of "Mona" on The Quicksilver Messenger Service's "Happy Trails" album (really cool album with lots of awesome vintage tones if you're interested). Now thanks to Kevin I've got the Trem and the Wah, and all I need to do is crank up my Marshall til it distorts and I'm there! I'm pretty stoked about it, that album is a big influence on me and now I've got some great inspiring tones at my feet. Thanks Kevin!

I just handed my bass off to my tech to put in a new pickup and vibrato so I thought I'd dig this baby out and try it with guitar. I'm an inept guitarist, my twin brother is the guitarist in the family but I happen to have some of his guitars here so what the heck. Check it out:

I think this pedal sounds great on guitar too, I know there's some of you guys who play guitar too, this is a cool pedal that can pull double duty.

Because of the jack placements on this pedal I think I can fit it on my new board with everything else I'm using. Have to put that on there, I can really use a groovy modulation.

I guess no one else sees it. I attach certain sounds and the desire to achieve those sounds with certain lifestyle aesthetics, nay, lifestyle choices. To clarify what I was getting at what I meant was if you want a tremolo with more features (and different tones) than this one, I think that says something about your personality. Get it? The musical sounds (or aesthetics) you use reflect your own personal aesthetics and personality. I say stuff to this effect constantly (eg: your tone is who you are.)

Or to be more blunt and less euphamistic I think people who want tremolo pedals with more features and sounds than this one SUCK ;). See what happens when I'm in less than a full on crabby mood, I only *hint* at my utter disrespect for everyone that's not me! :ninja:

Classic tones from old tube amps aren't what I consider oddball, goofy, and useless tones, nor does anyone else I know or play with consider them that. There's nothing odd about classic tone. I guess you guys just don't differentiate between old tube amp tremolo and the oddball goofy useless tap tempo rhythmic trem chop of some newfangled garbage tone machine. I'll have to make a note for when I want to be disrespectful just to come right out with it then!

In fact since I've got a few minutes until I have to be anywhere I'm just going to take this opportunity to express my utmost disrespect to people who fall into the following categories:

1) I salute YOU Mr. Pedaltrain Pro user, with your big heavy pedalboard loaded with high dollar boutique effects that will not use a tube amp because of "weight" and "cost".

2) I salute YOU Mr. multiple envelope filters on your board man. If there was a woman in the audience who could understand your pedalboard she'd instantly see that you have commitment issues.

3) I salute YOU Mr. I have every pedal I've ever used once in any piece of music on my board man. Tone suck has got nothing on you! Just try not to feel bad about the 800$ you spent on the Akai Deep Impact when the one song you use it on gets nixed from the setlist.

Whoa, I come into work this morning to find this whole back-and-forth erupting from an off-hand comment I made 3 months ago. :p

It's all cool Mark. I know what tones and sounds you go for, and that they're very different from mine. And yet, I still dig your tone (for what YOU do). I just thought it was funny that you were implying that anyone who wasn't going for a vintage tube trem sound was instead going for "useless oddball goofy sounds that really only nerds cream over"

And as for not having a tube amp, its just the cost for me. I don't care about the weight.

Yeah it's cool, no actual disrespect meant of course. The whole disrespecting people who are not me thing was supposed to be a self jab. I'm not quite that conceited! Obviously I've owned a lot of stuff that falls into the oddball goofy category too so if I find anything any other players do funny it's often because I've done the same things.

It is both funny to me, but also a wonder that other players are so inspired by things that wouldn't inspire me at all, but it's those differences between us all that make music interesting and varied. And it's only because I've explored so many possibilities that I've developed the tastes that I have, and we're all on that quest and we all end up somewhere different, because at the end of the day we all are different, which brings me back to the point I try to make so frequently that one's personality really shines through in the tones, sounds, and playing.
