So, decided to just wing the control plate.
Kinda draw the shape...
Cut it out on the bandsaw.
Scratch around it and route a ledge.
This is the backside, you can see the wire tunnels. I'll have to keep the wiring clean here as it will be on display.
It's a good job the blue plastic protection is tough. And yes, the plastic is actually clear.

Looks so cool! But I would worry about that lower horn snapping off now you removed that piece...
The piece down the center is the only structure this needs and it will be fine. The horn is pretty solid but I can see where a sharp blow might split it. Just have to be careful.
This Tele I did has held up very well
So hey, it was easy to get a good angle for the clamp

Is it me though, or is the bridge taking a peek over the edge there?
I figure they'll sound good with the 8 string, first one I ever saw Geezer was playing in in 1975.
What I'm really hoping for is that you are secretly planning to hide an actual bubble machine somewhere on this instrument and surprise us all at the last minute with a video of your bubble want making bubbles while you play it.
