This is the build that wasn't planned. Like, at all. I have been building a bass in my mind for about 7 years, finally have some of the elements in place to make a go at it, starting ordering parts.
I don't have a planer, jig, or band saw. So my choices are limited to what I can get in there
I ordered a chunk of mahogany, but was unsatisfied with the pre-cuts and sent it back. So my original plans of the bass I had envisioned are on hold.
Either Tbird NR or FSO Jaguar
What I'd like to do, is be able to test some pickup locations, configuration, et al, and not ruin a decent bass. At the same time, I'd like to practice the routing and shaping aspects of building so I don't learn on a final product.
Thus the "My Little Mule". Literally a test bed, it will be a modular of sorts built out of scrap wood and designed to be recut/sectioned in the future if the pickup channel gets compromised. If something gets ruined, meh
And the junk wood pile that may be either rebirthed, or reverted back to firewood:
