Wipe on poly over paint

I used Minwax wipe on poly on a previous build, but that was a stain/dye job. Has anyone ever used it over spray can finishes? I ask because the weather is not going to let me finish this job for a while. I can do the wipe on in the house, but the spray clear coat has to be done outside.

I am interested in the answer and also the answer to using it the other way around, Minwax wipe on poly and then paint on top. I am thinking of the way Fender made (makes?) some finishes with a clear coat of something to seal and then paint on top.
