I own a EA Wizzy Mline and I have been powering it with an iAMP 800. I play mostly old blues with a guitarist and drummer. Drummer is on brushes probably 80%. Now I love the way the MLine seems to cover the stage, disperse if you will. It seems like it's coming from everywhere. i am looking for something that sounds like this cab but will handle the power of the iAMP at louder levels. (drummer with sticks). I was thinking about another 1x12 but in a slightly larger cab or a 2x10 even. I did own a nl210 for a brief period of time but found out it wasnt my cup of tea. I don't want to bring in two cabs , but if I have to then I will. I have been looking at a Genz Benz 2x10 neo at a local shop that's used. I laso want to start using my Markbass LMII so a 2ohm load is not an option.

. I am not sure if anyone makes a side vented cab (I know no one makes a side vented TL except us). I am playing an older NM410 on my Blues gigs - but we're pretty loud.

I love my (four ohm) Wizzy 12 M line as much as any piece of gear I've ever owned. It DOES sound like "it's coming from everywhere." I use a Realist pickup (old one, not particularly high output) straight into an AI Focus I, series II (600 watts @ 4 ohms?)
In the loudest playing situation I'm involved with, a nine-piece with often-too-loud guitard and drummer, and a keyboard player who fights their "fire" with fire, I still have headroom for days. I have thought about getting a second Wizzy -- just 'cause I love it so much -- but decided I just don't need it. If I needed more oomph than my rig could supply -- which I don't see happening -- I'd just take a DI to the PA.
I guess what I am worried about is pushing this cab to far and blowing the speaker. But if you are using it in that situation I guess that answers my question. Thanks guys.
That is what the P.A. is for. If no P.A. support the add a wizzy 10. It will punch up the sound a little.
In my experience, it takes a lot to push the Wizzy M Line too far, as I've never done it. The Wizzy M's 200 watt power handling rating is very conservative and refers to continuous power. The Wizzy will handle considerably more clean power in practice. (I've used mine for a few years now with an amp rated at 450 watts @ 4 ohms without any problems.) As with any speaker cabinet, back off if you hear distortion. Amplifier clipping is very tough on any speaker.

I own 2 Wizzy M-lines. I bought them together thinking I would need them on louder gigs as you describe, but what I've found is that one is so loud w/ my AI Focus 2r III that I rarely use them both. However, on a few louder Rock/singer/ songwriter gigs I have used both and it's great to have that Wizzy M wall of sound they create together. I also occasionally have brought both when I didn't know what to expect w/ the room size or vol. level of a particular gig. Most of those times I found I only needed the one, but on the other hand w/ BG there have been one or two times when the leader didn't want my bass in his PA and I had wished I had both so as not to drive this amazing cab too hard in a big room.
I've also used one M-line 12 w/ the Wizzy 10 on top and that did sound great as well. Maybe a bit more mid-range edge that way. But again, if it's a very loud gig (when doubling or w/ just BG) I'm afraid that this too may drive the little 10 a bit too hard w/ all the power coming from the Focus when it has a 2 ohm load like that (1000 watts).

I use an M-line Wizzy 12 for rehearsals and small gigs and love it.
For slightly bigger gigs, I usually stack the Wizzy on top of my VL208. Great combination.
At our last outdoor gig, I brought my Dr. Bass 1580 for big, effortless, bottom end, and stacked the Wizzy on top, tilted on its kickstand as my personal monitor. Huge and articulate.

Your original post mentions that bringing the total load down to 2 ohms isn't an option since you'd like to be able to use the cabs with a Markbass head as well. Any cab you add will either raise the total load above 4 ohms and thus use an amp's power less efficiently, or drive the load under 4 ohms and make them unsuitable for simultaneous use with the Markbass. Perhaps the best option would be to find a 4 ohm cab (2x10?) large enough to handle louder gigs on its own to also be used in conjunction with your Wizzy 12 M-Line and the iAmp 800 when maximum output is required.
I did. I found a used Genz Benz Neo 2x10 cab at 4ohms. I think this will fit the bill. Now I am looking at the Shuttle 6.0. Any of you guys use these for upright at all?
