I love how he talks about having too many rules at the onset. My friend started teaching guitar 2 years ago with about six students. He has the kids bring their iPod and he teaches them the songs they want to learn. Fast forward to today and he's teaching almost 40 students many of whom wouldn't have stuck with it otherwise.
