World Baseball Classic

I am amazed by the fact that the game took place in Miami, which is still a major US city if I remember correctly, and somehow more people were there rooting for PR than the US. So, one is left with the assumption that these are American-living or American-born people of Puerto Rican heritage rooting against the country in which they live. Anyone else want to know what is wrong with this country? Look no further than this, you think this would happend in Mexico? The UK? Germany? Japan? No way, we have lost our national pride and we are no one cares, it is obscene.

Órale,
As an American, of Puerto Rican and Mexican heritage, I'm just a big fan of the game. But just remember on thing, as pointed out by a good friend of mine watching the classic, his observation's were, that the Latin baseball fan's have a 'Passion" for the game, the player's, and their Country, be it over-sea's, or in this Country....

I was not trying to insinuate that people rooting for PR were somehow in the wrong, I was just saying that American's do not care anymore. It was basically an All-Star game anyway, but the fact that it was in the United States and the US was basically the visiting team was mind jamming. If Manchester United played Chelsea in Manchester what do you think would happen? It is the same thing that happens in all global sports anymore. Miguel Cotto (A Puerto Rican) fought Zab Judah (a New Yorker) at Madison Square Garden and Cotto had far more support than Judah. Unfortunately Judah was on a downward slide and Cotto was a rising phenom... I am of 100% German descent and I certainly would not be rooting for Germany if they played the US in anything, that is all that I am saying.

Some time ago Belgium played a soccer game against Marocco. The Maroccans are one of the biggest (if not the biggest) minority in the country. From all over the country Maroccans went over to Brussels to support Marocco. No one was screaming bloody murder like you seem to be doing.

If Turkey is playing Germany I'm pretty sure the Turks in Germany will be supporting Turkey and not Germany.
