Wow, I'm freakin' diabetic!

I spent the day in a nutrition class. It's amazing what's loaded in prepared foods. They gave us a book with most popular restaraunt's dishes and their carb/calorie count. A real eye opener.

Yes to this, it's shocking when you see the nutrition counts at some restaurants. Don't feel embarrassed about ordering off the child's menu, except in most cases it's just fried or Mac & cheese. It doesn't bother me at all to order half portions.

It hit 108 this morning. If you look at a 20oz. soda, most have 70 carbs total in the bottle. I drank a couple of those a day, in addition to my meals (and snacks) and sweet tea with each of those meals. Crazy.

Then people wonder why we're so fat...they don't consider the gut bombs they drink at every meal, or worse, BETWEEN every meal...another thing...those 70 grams of carb are in an 8 or 12 oz serving...when was the last time anyone bought a 20 oz soda and stopped at 8 oz? You have to multiply that carb count by the amount of servings in a container. If you have 70 g in 8 oz and its a 64 oz fountain drink, you're actually taking in 560 grams of carb...how 'bout them apples?
