Couldn't find this anywhere else, so I measured myself today. Posting here for public record
The Yamaha Broad Bass 5 string pickup measurements are the same at the Fender 5-string PJ

P-Bass Neck
Bass side
Body Length: 2.8050"
Body Width: 1.100"

Treble Side
Body Length: 2.225"
Body Width: 1.100"
J-Bass Bridge
Body Length: 4.100"
Body Width 0.730"
Ear Center to Center Length: 1.925"
Ear Center to Cetner Width: 1.130"

The Nordstrand NPJ5FS should be a perfect fit.

Now you know

Thanks for the measurements. :hyper:

So are you replacing the pickups with the Nordstrands? If so, why? (I'm just being nosy. :D)

Not claiming this applies to you, but I had to replace the J pickup on the BB234 due to noise in my environment, but the 735 has been happily quiet.

My J-pickup has become intermittent. I haven't had time to pull it apart yet, but suspect it's an internal issue as you can push the pickup down in the seat and it will flicker back on.
If the pickup itself is bad, I'll probably go Nordstand Humbucker instead of the Yamaha replacement. Yamaha's parts catalog is not available anywhere, and no one seems to know how to buy one of the YG VSC7b pickups. While Yamaha's products are great, their customer service is... well, I don't think electric basses are a very big percentage of the company's business.

I've now tried two new PJ sets (Joe Barden and Lindy Fralin) in my BBP34. I still like the tone of the Yamaha P pickup specifically. I'm going to put it back in. I just really want a quiet J pickup. My house has bad hum and I hate a single coil J in a PJ. I saw someone mention Nordstrand matching up well. Anyone know which one?

For the 5-string
NJ5FS Hum-Cancelling Fender
Just select the Bridge Pickup and tell them what you are doing in the order notes

Not sure on the 4-string. They'll want you to measure
These are the dimensions for their 'standard' J Pickup for 4-string

P-Bassový krk
Basová strana
Dĺžka tela: 2,8050 "
Šírka tela: 1 100"

Výškové strany
Dĺžka tela: 2 225 "
Šírka tela: 1 100"
Najviac J-Bass
Dĺžka tela: 4 100 "
Šírka tela 0,730"
Dĺžka od stredu ucha k stredu: 1 925"

Good day. I am very interested in what you wrote, because I also did not find the dimensions of the Yamaha BBP35 sensors anywhere. My BBP35 bridge pickup hums quite a bit after adding the tone barrier, the P pickup hums even with the tone barrier. Without a tone barrier, they are individually quiet. I prefer the J sensor game, I would like to change the J sensor to 100 percent and I don't know P yet. I found the pickups they listed: NPJ5FS Hum-Cancelling Fender Set I want to make sure they are the ones you they thought. I like the design of the BBP35 tool, it fits in the hand, it's a fine tool, but I can see that the pickups you mentioned would be better. Confirm my opinion, I'm waiting for an answer. I don't know about other sensors that might fit, do you know of any others.
