I've got a 1968 Yamaha SA70 f hole hollow body that has something wierd going on electronically. I had to replace the pots as they were too scratchy to be repaired and didn't notice anything amiss until I had the strings changed (flatwounds) a year or so later (had very old strings on it which had a great thud but that was about all) when I discovered that the tone knob didn't really roll much of the tone off. Together with that the volume doesn't start working till about 7.5 and goes quickly to maximum. When the volume is set to about 8 or 8.5 the tone knob works more as a volume knob and at full it acts a tone knob but with not much change in tone. Is this an SA70 thing? Or did the tech get something wrong? Any clues would be much appreciated. Cheers
