yamaha should produce an rbx 6 string

Since Myung left yamaha there has been no replacement for his sig. bass, I mean it was like the rbx 375 with a MM SD pick-up , they can do the same thing just adding those passive pickups they have on the rbx. Or at least they should make a high end version of the rbx, like the trb and the trb P or whatever.

Just wanted to express my opinion.

they do make a trb-6, and personally i'd buy a used yamaha rbx-jm1 and refnish the body. its cheaper that way, and the body with the color taken off looks great

I've tried to findy any of the JM models , but I guess people find it hard to sell them away. Probably a good piece of equipment. And for some reason they don't sell the trb 1006 on guitarcenter or musiciansfriends anymore. Weird and uncool.

I think Yamaha has finally learned not to produce basses that don't sell. Not only the Myung Signature models, but the last few versions of the midrange RBX line have absolutely bombed. Both the RBX 774 & 775 (which I owned a fretted a home-defretted set of 775s as my primary basses for several years and was very pleased with them... but first purchased them *because* they were at clearance prices - circular reasoning) and the A.I.R. version after, which by all accounts were very good basses for the money but both ended up being sold at massive discounts to clear inventory. They've learned that generally their customers want different pricepoints of the BB and higher-end TRB lines - that's what sells for them.

Oh well, thank you for the info, now at least I'm aware why its rare to find some basses lol. Especially the TRB 1006 for some reason.
