Hi everyone, just joined the group.
Hoping I can get some clarification on a bass that I’m in the midst of purchasing.
The bass is in very good condition, the only problem is that it does not have a serial number on it anywhere.
It is usually on the headstock. I’ve tried to look into the electronics cavity and there is nothing.
How would I know that this bass is authentic.
Also, how would I know that it is made in Japan and not in Taiwan.

I cant help you with the serial number. But having owned Yamahas that were made in Japan and some that were made in Taiwan I can say that both were fantastic. No difference in quality in the ones I played. They built some great basses in Taiwan.
