Yamaha TRBX504

I been own a trbx504 in C std tune (using BEAD string from bright sounding EB Cobalt flat) before I sold it. To my ear, the YGD pup natural sound are lacking growl and attack, using pick still can match the ibby BTB tone quality.

I suggest find a 35 scale BTB 4 string for better serve on drop tune setup.

Here's the thing, though... the only way you can find an Ibanez BTB 4-string is to comb the preowned market, since Ibanez stopped making BTB 4-strings years ago. You can only get 5 and 6-string BTBs these days.

That being said, this just popped up in the TalkBass classifieds: For Sale - Ibanez BTB

ESP's LTD line also has several 35" scale 4-strings in the Arctic Metal, Black Metal, F-series, and Tom Araya lines:
Products - LTD Basses - The ESP Guitar Company
Products - Tom Araya - The ESP Guitar Company

One of my basses is a heavily modded 2010 LTD 4-string, HTB-600 Henkka T. Blacksmith (Children of Bodom) sig model, 34" scale. With a good proper setup and the right strings, it handles drop tunings well. It's DGCF with a Hipshot Xtender to click into CGCF. The strings are D'Addario XL balanced tension 50-120.

Basically, a good quality bass set up properly should be able to handle low tunings of modern music.
