Yet another newbie here

Hi all. Been lurking for a while and decided to become active.

I've had a guitar since the mid 80's, though used to love to fiddle with my aunt's acoustic and piano even earlier.

Played in a high school band - still dig that tape out every so often for laughs. Played a little bit in college, but things like alcohol and women (oh..and classes) got in the way. I'd probably be halfway decent if I had put time into it.

Anyway, bought a cheap yamaha bass when Mars went out of business. The intention was to do some home recording. Maybe one day I'll get to it. About this time last year my friend who plays guitar decided he was gonna try to put a band together and asked me if I wanted to actually use my bass for something. Once we found a drummer and got used to having to play in time, we actually played a small set at a bar during his brothers bands time, and played a longer set at a xmas party. We've since switched drummers but are having fun with a new guy and actually starting to get somewhat decent and hope to be playing out in South Atlanta sometime soon.

We're doing covers right now. The guitarist and I are both 80's metal fans, but we are doing a quite wide range of songs for fun right now.

Anyway...that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
