When you're playing a gig, having a great night, band is hot, club is packed, and dance floor rocking. During the last set, nothing feels right, the E string feels like there is a groove at the 3rd fret and it won't move; the G string has developed a tremendous buzz at approx the 5th fret yet you are stone cold sober and playing well. Everything feels tight and buzzy yet nothing looks wrong in the dark stage lights.
And then the next morning yoiu take your SX bass out of the case and realize the block inlays were never glued in and are sticking up above the fretboard causeing all this trouble.
Never would have thought to look for that; pushed them back in place with my thumbs and the action is great; might be time for a dab of glue though.
Stupid bass / stupid player
