Your Aguilar Rig...DB vs. SL

I used two SL112's for the Bowl concert, yes. And frankly, it sounded just perfect.

Previously, I tried two DB115's (the one I got from Aguilar, and one that I rented from SIR), and I found the rig sounded too voluminous and overwhelming on the bottom, at least in the room that I was in. So, I opted for a DB115 and DB112, and that made a fantastic rig.

So I got all crazy and ordered SL112's as well from those guys, and love those two. I was stoked on the bottom end of them and the feather weight, which is nice when I'm doing my own gigs around town sans cartage. I believe now that I am literally insane: I have six cabs now from Aguilar. All those mentioned just now, a DB412 and DB810.

Lots and lots of fun options for mixing and matching!

Best,
JMJ

Awesome! Out of curiosity, do you use the tweeters at all with the Aggies you have that have them? I thought I remember reading that you weren't much of a tweeter guy.

Thanks for sharing your time and knowledge here!

Recorded several times with an SL cab in studio, and it is very very nice. It's one of those cabs that sounds quite close mic'ed up to the sound of the cab in the room...and that's a good thing. In other words, I think it translates well.
