My old band had a song called, "The Rhythm and the Damage Done" which was written by me and one of the guitar players, and my name is Dave. I needed to register something when I had a question I wanted to post here some 20 years ago and here we are.

A nickname given by my best friend, as I was going bald in my early 20s, and decided to shave it all off then and there, and be done with it. I have my Doctorate in education. Just recently got that done.
my ex wife was headed out to a chinese restaurant that has a reputation for regular infestations, I called out "enjoy the ratrolls and grubdumplings"... I really liked the way it sounded.
I'm a beginner (tyro) and am a huge admirer of the unparalleled genius of P G Wodehouse. I picked up the phrase "feeble intellect" from one of his books.
So, I chose "Tyro Of Feeble Intellect" - tofi. On the odd sprightly day with the brain buzzing like a dynamo (another phrase stolen from Wodehouse), one might go so far as to substitute "Fine" for "Feeble".

Old blues cat I used to play with had written and recorded a bunch of stuff in the 90s that required a 5 string for low D and C notes to play properly.
I switched over to 5ers when I joined the band in 2004.

The word play involved comes directly from my personality...there is no other rationale.
I installed window coverings for many many years. I was an independent contractor, so I installed for all the big box stores and many smaller, boutique designers. If a job came up that was far away and it paid well, I'd go. Folks would always ask me, "Do you go to (insert town here)? I'd answer, "Yes, me go there". So, that's how "Covermego" was born. Glad that's over. Tired of shimmying up a 24ft ladder to install/program motorized window coverings!!! I still do a bit on the side, though; especially repairs that require nothing taller than a 4ft ladder, lol.
It was my first online handle back when you needed a modem to connect to online BBSes. Why? I play bass (duh) and love gritty tones such as John Entwistle, dUg Pinnick.
Turns out I actually prefer overdrive/distortion to fuzz, but whatevs, I've stuck with Fuzzbass - even though I occasionally hear "are you a hairy fish?" in non-bass forums.

It's also a reference to the fact that my dad is a physicist who worked mostly in the engineering and manufacture of CRTs and related devices operating under high vacuum.
My given name is Edmund, nickname "Ned," so some of my Hispanic law school classmates mixed the latter with the Spanish "Edmundo" and called me "Nedmundo."

When I switched from saxophone to bass as a teen, I used a pick like many of my heroes. Also, I've been hanging around the planet since 1972. These days it's about 40% pick and 60% fingers.
I took it from a speech in fake German from Charlie Chaplin’s The Great Dictator.
No particular reason why I chose that name, other than that I found it funny and liked the sound at the time. I wouldn’t choose it again if I signed up now. Or at least I would put a space between the words.
