Hello all,

I thought i would post this as a bit of fun/insight into other players.

What is your favorite speaker combination.

I will start you off and say 2x10" or 4x10" depending on the gig size.

I have no preference. I appreciate all cabs for what they are. Lately I'm preferring a single 15". Tomorrow it'll be a 12/15 stack. Or maybe an 810.

Kool poll.. nice to know what others value and think operate the best under working conditions... I still like 12"s... and a single 15" is very useful as well.. better yet: a combination of both.

A 32x10" cab. Actually 4x10" cabs are cool, but two 2x10" would be easier on the back.

Currently playing a 115 and 210, but I like the sound of my 210 more, hopefully replacing it all with two 112s.

70's Ampeg 8x10 (original whimpy speakers) , but I've always wondered if 2 - 4x10's would be the same.

I used a brand new Ampeg 8x10 at the House of Blues and hated it.

Ever since high quality, extremely lightweight 410's emerged about 6 or so years ago, that's what I primarily play. To me, that format is the 'most bang for the size', and with castors attached is a very easy 'wheel in and wheel out' with a head and stand on top... no cart, no multiple cabs to hook up, and BIG punch and volume!

My favorite is 15x5" (Phil Jones) - which is not a choice, but second fav. is my Ampeg SVT 410HLF.

I like what I'm using now, a 212, or a 115/210. I agree 410's are tops, I had 3 different 410's over the years, but never had super light ones, and the weight became an issue.

I like 212'S most but they also work well with 410's for the really big outdoor stuff.

Small gigs w/out PA support or medium gig with PA support = 1x10.

Medium outdoor gigs with PA support, or large indoor gigs w/PA support = 1x10 + 1x15.

Large outdoor gigs with no PA support = 1x10 + 1x15 + 2 1012's.

I always run a DI w/PA support.
