youtube lesson videos that have changed your playing

hey guys,
I like to watch lessons on youtube while I run on the elliptical at the gym. It is a better use of my time for me then watching tv.

So with that being said does anyone have any lessons they found on youtube that may have inspired you, flipped a switch on a technique or anything else?

I watch mostly the talkingbass.net videos because I enjoy his teaching style. Not a big fan of scott of scotts bass lessons, he noodles too much and is to much of a show off imo

I like watching non-bass lessons, especially guitar lessons. Some of Richard Lloyd's Alchemical Guitarist videos are up there (the early lessons), but also stuff like how to use Coltrane changes on guitar, or looking at Miles Davis' note choice, or Bill Evans chord voiceings, etc. You don't have to use it specifically for jazz, either. Rick Wright of Pink Floyd admits to stealing Bill Evans' chords note for note on Dark Side of the Moon.

Plenty of Anthony Wellington Bass Workshop clips on you tube.
Hal Galper's Master Class clips are good stuff, though not bass specific.

If your on the elliptical or treadmill, I recommend practicing reading rhythm exercises.

Jim Stinnett's Real Bass Lessons are good. Even though I can do a lot of what he discusses I always come away with better ideas on how to teach those concepts.

Not many people know this, but Mark Smith of talkingbass.net writes all of the lesson material for scottsbasslessons.com as well as his own stuff.
They grew up in the same town and went to the same music school together.

Yes Mark has a very pleasant and laid back teaching style.
He also has a youtube and facebook livestream most weekends.

Yes Scott is a show off, and is so far up his own arse that he has to shove his toothbrush up there to clean his teeth.

I love Jim, and I think about and use 6th's and 10th's purely as a result of his vids.
