Zons are rare, and this one's a very limited edition. As noted in the ad it's strung BEAD, but conversion to EADG would be super simple for a tech.

Zons are top quality basses. I love my custom headless Sonus five string that I got two years ago.

Understood. Justification for the price is that you get a minty Zon right now, no wait required (8 month minimum on a custom order, probably more, possibly a LOT more). The challenge is that some will only pay top dollar if the instrument matches their dream specs.

Anyway... it's a new posting, so maybe put it on your watch list to see how it shakes out?

Some only want exactly what they want, which usually means putting in a custom order and waiting months (probably a year-plus for a Zon). OTOH there are others who don't play the waiting game, and aren't that particular about their specs.

That bass is too far from my specs to be interesting to me, but I would be tempted if it was a 5-string Sonus.
