Zoom B3 vs MS60B

Seems no one talks about the MS100BT so here goes: it packs all the effects from the MS60B, MS50G and MS70CDR, B3 and G3 combined in a single pedal, plus a handful of exclusive effects available on the Stompshare iOS app. I found a new one on ebay for $130 but they are going up and becoming rare. Zoom discontinued this pedal and removed it from all retail stores for some unknown reason. I think it might be due to licensing (doubtful) or high manufacturing costs. It seems to feature the same memory of the G3 but the larger DSP of the MS50G that allows 6 simultaneous blocks. That alone kills the MS60B.

The winning feature is the fuzzes. These are only available on the MS100BT and they are not included in either the MS50G or the G3: Tycobrahe Octavia (octa fuzz), Tone Bender (60s fuzz), NYC Big Muff (70s muff, apparently different from the "greatmuff" which models a generic muff tone), it also features a Fuzzface (which was only available on the G3). The Centaur Klon is another MS100BT exclusive, there might be more.

it's worth mentioning that the Stompshare app is still available for iOS11 and I was able to download all effects on an iPhone. They are all free now.

But only if you are an Apple iOS user a fairly exclusive club. I was fortunate to snag a fully loaded MS100BT and it is indeed an amazing box that I am thinking of doing the Lizard Breath mod to for a one stop octave up dream machine.

Exclusive? Come on, even a 4 year old iPod works with StompShare, and some of those go for 20 bucks used. Interesting mod though, seems Lizard Breath is the only shop selling brand new -modded- ms100bt pedals online.

Not gonna debate iOS and Android here just sayin not everyone drank the kool-aid. Those Lizard Breath guys might have a secret stash.

Turns out StompShare also works for iOS7, even though it’s listed on the AppStore for iOS8 or later. I now have it on my venerable iPhone4, kudos to Zoom for keeping it alive on 8-year-old devices.
