Zoom B3 - What mod is this (has DB9 connector)

Need some help identifying this mod on used Zoom B3 I just got.

The previous owner put what looks like a DB9 (per google image search) connector in it.

I took the back cover off to see where it was connected to and this is what I saw.
There were 6 stripes of wires from the connector but 3 wires were cut and not connected with anything. Only 3 wires were connected to the board somewhere.
(They were connected to under the PCboard and I couldn't see to where they were connected).

It was store-bought used and the store had no idea what the mod was (and hence got me a really good deal).
And everything seems to work as they should

I googled for B3 mods and did not find any that used 9-pin connector.
This connector (DB9??) looks like older VGA monitor cable, but then it should be a female connector to be connected to a monitor.
(If 9-pin connectors work the same as 15-pin connector on PC these days)
This one has male, 9-pin connector...

Anyone have any idea what this mod is and what this mod is for???

Very possible a modification to the AshBass mod that would control patch up/down - Really doesn't matter what type of connector you use as long as the wires on the back are run to what they're supposed to control.

AshBass used a stereo 1/8" jack mounted the back, but maybe the original modder of you pedal just used the DB9 because it was available.

Lots of pictures, and shows where the '3 wires' may be landed on the PC board.

I had looked into AshBass mod but didn't think the mod on my B3 was for the patch mod because of different connector.
But if different connectors can be used for the same mod, then what's in my B3 might most likely be the patch mod since only 3 wires were used out of 6 from the DB9 connector.

To confirm, I will need to take off the back cover, take off PC Board, and unscrew all the nuts on the jacks in the back. Too much work and I feel really lazy right now...
I'll probably do that later but for now I feel better now knowing that it is possibly the patch mod that doesn't interfere or change any existing function, unlike some mod that changes tones, assign different functions to factory-set buttons, etc...

Well, I ended up taking the cover and PC Board off.

Looks like the previous owner did patch select mod and tap tempo mod altogether.
Not sure if I want to make use of this since tap tempo mod is not what I need the most.
Maybe--- I will identify 3 pins for the patch select and make use of them just for the patch select mod? But it will not be anytime soon...
