Zoom B6 tap delay Syncronization for effects

In the manual it says the tap button can be used to adjust some variables for certain pedals, mostly the delay pedals, and a few modulation pedals.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get this to work. Having a delay effect loaded and on then using the tap foot switch shows the new tempo come up on the screen but it never changes the effect for the pedal. I have searched endlessly and cannot find any information on how to do this. If anyone can help me out I would be so grateful.

i guess my b6 is broken? i dunno. no one seems to know the answer and there is no explanation anywhere which leads me to believe this setting should just work with no additional configuration but my pedal does function correctly

The delay is probably set to a fixed delay time in milliseconds. You have change it to a note value for the delay to be dependend on the tempo. You can do this by scrolling past the maximum number (or below the minimum).
