Zoom G2

Yes. I have all three of Zoom's *2 series...the B2 for bass, the G2 for electric guitar, and the A2 for acoustic guitar.

Obviously the B2 sounds the best for bass (at least as far as versatility), but the G2 and A2 also have a few good sounds. On the G2 I found a good sound with the D1 preset with just some minor tweaking.

Like Oldcatfish sez, It will certainly work and you may prefer that over the bass version depending on your needs. I mainly use a B2.1u but also have a G1x that I prefer to use on a retro-rock project the effects and amp sims just sit better in the overall mix of the band.

i just got a digitech bp80 to start with effects and it cost me $40 new on ebay. I was tossing up between the zoom and the digitech, but im happy with my choice. I had a korg abx something or other, and the effects in that sounded more like they were for guitar cos they stole all my bottom end.
The digitech even has bass, mid, and treble for each effect you program.
