Zoom R16 or R24

I used an R16 for about 2 years as both a standalone unit and as an audio interface. Pretty solid unit overall.

However, I updated my audio interface about a year and a half ago and it's so different. The preamps on the Zoom R16 and R24 just aren't that good. You get a lot of them, but they're lower end preamps. Getting something with fewer inputs but higher quality inputs is a better investment for me.

Not trying to rain on the Zoom R16/24 parade, I used to love the unit but once I could hear the quality difference in preamps I couldn't stick with it. I do still use it on occasion when I absolutely need 8 inputs though.
